Pesky Pole Comes to Portland

The Old Timers Baseball Association of Portland board members recognize the Pesky (Paveskovich) family and the infamous Pesky Pole at Fenway Park with a replica at Alpenrose Stadium. After several suggestions on proposed locations, Alpenrose was chosen as the best location since several youth baseball and softball games are played there as well as the Little League Softball World Series which this upcoming year will be the 25th year!

On November 13th 2017 several board members guests, Carl Cadonau owner of Alpenrose Dairy and Vince Pesky (brother of Johnny for whom pole was named after) attended a dedication ceremony at the right field pole. All attended signed the pole just like the original at Fenway!

Red letters were attached to the meshed flag vertically with plaques recognizing Johnny and Vince Pesky for growing up in Portland and their contribution to Portland baseball.
